Hi everyone

I bought this '97 5th gen Prelude two weeks ago and been having troubles about the 4WS (bought it knowing the problem). I tried resetting it, it worked for a couple minutes and then the light came back.

I cleaned all the connections between the fuse box, the sensor, the 4WS ECU, and the "power plant". The system can work but goes off after a couple minutes of heavy steering...

yesterday I even cleaned the sensor from all the old grease... 15mn of steering in small streets and the light is back.

any idea where the problem might find its source ?

PS : I'm also looking for the path of the wire that commands the horn relay (connector #87, red with black tape), mine was under the battery and eventually got cut. can't find the wire from steering wheel to relay...

thanks :)

PPS : here's a pic btw

with SRS light ? if I recall, it's 62, like most of the time as I saw on other forums.

Not sure about the code, but my light comes on whenever im nearing a stall whilst turning...

If your battery is a bit on the way out, or idle is really low, voltage might be dropping a bit under load. Might be worth cleaning up the power-delivery wires?

if you pull the code it should be the 4ws light not the srs

i did the reset with the paper-clip thingy. how do you get an error code with 4WS light ?

Scott, I explored this path too, and cleaned every single connexion. I guess it can still come from there, but usualy it happens when i'm on a heavy steering at around 30-40km/h (roundabouts, ...), not even for parking !

edit : it's actually 11 ! (i did it again, i wasn't that sure actually...) which means "rear sub steering angle sensor".
