Hello,
I thought I saw a post once where a happy chappy had installed a set of OEM 16" 8J or 9J alloys on his 4th gen, I am interested in getting a pair of 9j's for drag racing and was wondering if there were any rubbing issues?
Cheers!!

That was me, the wheels fit nice on the 4g but I tested them on my mates type s and they sit out abit to far, if you did some heavy arch rolling and don't run to low it maybe ok.
I'll be working on it soon so I can try to get some pics for you?

Hey Pete,
Thanks for your reply. I have mine as low as it will go on my coil overs but you can still fit a finger between the top of the tyre and the arch. I think the offset on my alloys was +45 on an 8J rim. My alloys currently sit flush with the edge of the arch, how did these sit in comparison? Did you try the 8J or 9J rim on the type S? Also one last thing! The hub centric bore size on the Type S is 65mm or so, I thought the Supra's was less, did you have any issues with hub bore size?
Any pictures would be awesome!

I've fitted the 9's all round on mine. And not had any arch problems, although I havnt tested steering lock yet. Here's the 9j front
I think I tested the 8' with a 225/50 tyre on the rear and it was flush with the bodywork, also the inner lip needed a 3mm spacer or grind a lump of the strut a tiny amount as it was just catching.
The centre bore I've had to machine it out to 64.1 at a local machine shop. £10 per wheel I pay.
I'll try soon as I start working on it but weather dependant atm

that would be on its 3rd owner without being fitted to a car?

Poor thing's covered more miles on a pallet than it did when it was mounted in a car!

Hah, yea it seems so, also the mileage is wrong! My tach is showing 105,000km including the mileage on the new engine which is approx 65k miles.
