Lude Generation

Has anyone fitted these? Are they ok? How strong/durable are they.

A lot of people have problems with these, any they normally go back to steel nuts. I did use enclosed ally nuts but you'd never tell as they don't look sexy lol

Yea, i have read a few things about alloy nuts in general being a bit dodgy, just wondered if anyone had expierience of these particular ones.
Anyway, thanks i will probably avoid then.

You would probably be fine with them. But like 106Pete my preference is steel. You can get that style of nut in steel.

I keep meaning to check my Porka nuts against the lude, to see if they'd fit - they look similar. The Porka ones are alloy, obviously decent quality construction and boy, are they ever light!!!

All that weight saving is of course essential on our fat-arse fully loaded BB1's...

I'm not really worried about them being alloy, steeel would obviously be better. I just want them in a nice blue, to go with my black/blue alloys when i get them painted, hopefully in time for japfest next year

I have same model but red. They are fine. I did trips like 1100 miles at once and no probs at all. Also they were good on Nurburgrig even if manufacturer said they shouldn't be used on track.

The only issue I've had was with standard spacesaver spare wheel. I had to use it once and since then I have spare wheel nuts as well.

Looks like il be getting normal ones lol. Just a quick question, i take it Rota Grids will have tapered nuts not round ones?

I really like these ones but they cost £50 a set!!

Yes mate, 60 degree tapered holes.

I wouldn't go too cheap on wheel nuts. If brand new I wouldn't pay less than £40 RRP for a set of 16 or batter an eyelid at £50-£60. Otherwise chances are they're cheap for a reason, especially with aluminium nuts.

yeah i suppose you pay for what you get. and as its holding the wheel down its kinda an important part!

I might get those ones i linked for Christmas as well as a long list of other bits and bobs for it
