Interestingly, honda did oem (option) strut braces front/rear for the del sol.
They were dirt cheap too... something like £15 IIRC???

Its not obvious in this picture, but from other pictures I've seen it bolts at two points, one through the hollow upright part and the other on the plate.

But after all the toing and froing (if that's even a word) actually a big argument with ebay who offer "only" a prepaid return of £2.99 which clearly isn't enough for a 2 foot long box, the actual cost of returning this would be almost half of the cost of the bar, so I've decided to keep it and make the bloody thing fit....

I'll post some piccies when its done :uselesswithoutpics:

Oh are there additional plates as well? I thought it was just the uprights.

There's this one, which is an Ultra Racing clone on ebay, I know this, because I emailed the sellers and asked if it was UR or a copy, its only a few £££ cheaper than you can buy UR in the UK if you look hard enough you can get a UR one for less than £100.00 just !! at Mad Motors

I had an UR brace and the neuspeed. Spoon is better.
But next time or even soon I will make my own. Copy the mounting brackets from another brace and weld a big bar in between. Its not rocket seience!

Ummm :? it is if you can't weld ;)

I've fitted this ractive one this afternoon, and what a complete PITA it was, plus its cheap and nasty the base plates where the cross bar mounts the holes are too big for the supplied bolts; in my opinion, because for some odd reason I can't fathom, the base plates have one round hole and an elongated hole the other side :?: so I've had to order some different bolts and penny washers to fit it to my satisfaction, because when I tightened one of the supplied bolts up, it bent and then sheared when I tried to undo it :x :x as it seems the supplied bolts where made of cheese, also because as you can probably see the offside base plate is at a weird angle.

I've had to modify the clutch res bracket by cutting it in half and putting an extension piece on it (pic1) to mount the throttle cable part and then... we'll you'll see in (pic 2) below....

To say I'm not entirely happy with the way this thing fits and more than a little pi$$ed off with this brace would be a bit of an understatement.

Oh and I've had to put some thin tube over the throttle cables to hold them in the bracket because they won't hold in because the bracket has moved forward

Just waiting for the new stronger bolts (i:e not made of cheese) and penny washers to arrive and it'll be finished.
