It makes common sense jacking the car up.
When the car is jacked up the pressure is relieved off the towers so they will sit more vertical to a hundred off a mm maybe. Fit the brace and it is easier and the tolerances are tight since the towers arnt under pressure.
After fitting the car goes back on the ground and the towers get loaded up again and tilt more in to a tiny degree tightening the strut up and making it preloaded.
Into a corner you go and the brace is already strong so no to minimal movement.
I could fit my rear strut brace without jacking the car up.

I've just read 6 different front strut brace installation guides and all of them say leave the car on the ground on a flat level surface. None say to jack the car up but a few said specifically not to.
Google search front strut brace installation and read some guides.

Also notice how monst of the opinions are from saxo and ford owners.

Nissan leave the GTR jacked up to install the braces and they did a whole speak on why this should be the case.
I doubt you will notice a difference anyhow.
But the simple case for me was jacking the car up made installing the brace far easier since the pressure and flex was taken out of the chassis points on the suspension towers.
