Yeah that hasn't cracked due to rubbing issues, you'd see wear marks as well, not just a crack. As W1ggz pointed, there is a dark mark closer to the rim which looks like a crease mark from being run with not enough air and then the crack would have been where the tyre folded/pinched.

Quick update!
Had the blown tyre removed and replaced this morning but asked if I could have all the tyres balanced and new valves replaced on all the tyres. I was shocked to see another TWO tyres with bulges on the inside which needed replacing! These tyres are only 5-6 months old! Thats 7 tyres in 6 months
Surely this has to be down to alignment being out? I cannot have the alignment done until I source new track rod ends (which both need replacing) What do you think? I don't drive like a loon and pretty much drive pedestrian everywhere.
At least they did a grand job on the balancing. Smooth as hell now.

IIRC low profile tyres need higher pressures.
I run 40 front 38 rear for fast driving. Have done for years, never had middle tyre wear. You can go even higher with nitrogen.
Depends what you like the feel of I guess. I like having the rears slightly lower because the extra roll makes knowing when they're about to loose grip that tiny bit easier, and catching the grip back on a rear wheel slide a bit easier too.

Can you link me Ratty?
I am sure these have come up on ebay a few times before but I remember a few old debates about people buying these and saying that they are very cheap copies on other forums and broke after only a few months on the road. Are these any good? Suppose I might have to buy them as I cannot get hold of them anywhere.
Are you sure they are same for same replacements Scott? I don't know much but I know that the Type S track rod ends have more toe-in or toe-out than normal track rod ends for the Prelude than the 2.2 or other models. Would be a shame to lose some of the benefits of ATTS

hi mate i worked in a tyre garage for 5 years you dont get bulges from allignment, it only comes from 2 things either low pressure in the tyre, or a break down of the cords within the tyre this can either be damage from potholes or just poorly manufactured tyres, what make of tyre are you running as the cheaper brands tend to be made of a harder compound so on a low profile trye they are mre subject to failure as there is little or no give in the sidewalls

Cheers Ratty.
W1ggz. Its probably down to low pressure as the valves in 3 of my tyres were faulty and letting out air. I was constantly pumping in air every few weeks as they dropped so low in pressure. Guessing this weakened the structure as well as Cov's crappy roads.
