This is my old car. Don't know if it helps but when I was down at PAW Rich said the diff was noisy but said it was nothing to worry about as it wasn't causing any problems. I am not mechanically minded but could this be the diff on its way out?

What gearbox is it?

I had flywheel pressure plate separation a few times and it did not shudder, the only symptom was gears were harder to change.

Have you tried the original wheels yet?

If it's vibrating on idle stationary and goes away when the revs are raised sounds like several things to me:

balance shafts- incorrectly timed after cam belt, broken BS belt

Engine mounts- week, worn or broken

Flywheel- warped, loose FW bolts, clutch assembly at fault

Mis-fire- slight misfire can feel less severe when revs are raised

If it's only just started after the car has been sat it's unlikely to be the balance shafts unless the belt was severely cracked or something and broke on start up...
Most likely sounds like engine mounts as there a common fault on many cars and a flywheel/transmission fault but in all honesty it could be any of those things or none of them (hard to diagnose a fault like this without experiencing it first hand) but theres some things to check for and if your not sure yourself take it to someone who knows :)

Happy fault finding ;)

just a thought but it could be sticking outer cv joints - changing the wheels might have put the cv joints at a different angle to what theyve been running/sitting at before and if they are a bit worn it might be enough to make them bind initially giving a shudder. it could also be inner cv joints like merc said- you can check by driving round in circles and if you hear any rattling/cluncking or clicking then that should confirm it :)

Well the rad will definitely flap about like that, yes! But if you're feeling it through the drivetrain, I can't see how that can be it? :?
