The A to E ratings are against a standard EN, so yes they are meant to be directly comparative in a lab. However, each car behaves differently on each tyre IME, so some tyres suit some cars better than others, so in that sense... no

Just as an example of that, I have a set of Goodrich G grip on the front of my c5. They only have a C rating in the wet, but they are absolutely brilliant. I've never lost traction/braking grip in them. Lisa had a set of Accellera Alphas on her v40 that were also C rated in the wet and they were so drokking lethal at all times in the wet, I changed them when they still had tons of tread left (can't remember what with, might have been falkens? Didn't matter - slicks would have been better!)

Yep my ad08r are quieter than the old rainsport 3 on my van.
But different tyres sizes and different vehicles so you can't compare.
Fuel economy isn't great with the ad08r.

@RattyMcClelland and others who used AD08R, what about picking all the rubbish from road and throwing it to the fenders and doors, scratching paint and so on? Are these tyres so soft or it's ok to use them daily?

That's the only problem holding me from getting a set of AD08R or similar tyres. Now I have Dunlop Sport Maxx (simple, no additional letters) and I want something significantly better.

Never been an issue for me.
Not scratches and heavily sealed paintwork means debris doesn't stick.

The compound is soft but the sidewalls are hard. They are on my lude and happily use them as a daily if mine was a daily. Driving normally they are like any other tyre.

Out of interest Ratty, what do you mean by heavily sealed paintwork? Plenty of wax etc or have you gone for one of those coating systems on top of the paint? (We all hate scratches and chips on fresh paint  )

There are waxes and there are sealants.
Sealants are man made polymers, waxes are usually carnuba based.
You can use either. On pearl white sealants look better and sealants last longer. Shame werkstat no longer exist. Going with carlack next as its it's almost the same company.
