Yep definately had abs because my abs pump started clicking and failed and I replaced with a 2nd unit.

Perhaps yours had been retro-fitted then, or someone paid for it as an option at build? According to the sales brochure though, it wasn't even available as an option though;

Was standard on mine. Maybe because mine was a1990.

I believe the brochure wurly is quoting from is for the '91 model year, last year of availability of the 3g

I was also under the impression that abs was only standard/ available on the 4ws 2.0l injection model.
