Shock knock is related to the rubbers in the top hats on the suspension, wouldn't be causing this I doubt.

5th gen Honda Access suspension is not adjustable coilovers, is it? Just shorter springs etc. right?
(These pics robbed from nitin);

As you can see, springs should still be in contact when fully unloaded.

Thoughts are...
  • Snapped springs
    Cut springs ( :roll: :tosser: previous owner )
    Or possibly the shock internal bump stops have perished/been damaged, so that the struts are over-travelling??? (unusual/unlikely failure I would suggest)

Update..
I couldn't wait till morning so I got out my jack and stands after work.
Turns out the previous owner cut the springs. I only removed one corner but since the car is sitting the same all round I fear all corners are cut. What a shame. :(

Does anyone know if other ludes run the same springs as the Honda access yellow ones. Thanks again

Dammit, sorry to hear that.
Reason this failed the not is exactly one reason why cutting springs is a bad idea!

As for replacement, springs will almost certainly be car specific I suspect (height and weight they have to support will vary).

Agree with Mercs suggestion to go for some eibachs to get the same lowering in a quality spring 8-)
