Meister R strip down??

Finally got myself some decent suspension!!

My Meister R's came today and they are in real good nick but the springs could do with a lick of paint..
is there any reason I cant take the dampening adjustment rod off?

my father seams to think I cant take them apart as the dampening adjustment rod is pressurised or something but I have read of people disassembleing them to clean em.

Just thought I'd get some more knowledgeable peeps input

Yes they are the ones!! Thanks for the link they have not done much work at all very tidy just want a clean, grease and bit of paint on the springs very happy with them

Make sure the spring preload is undone and the undo the top bolt. Pretty easy. These are identical to my bc coilovers. I took mine apart to put stiffer springs on.
