Post by Wayne2014 » Fri Nov 07, 2014 9:46 am

This is what i have now 15" space saver

I tried to fit my current 17" in - lol

Obviously i need one that levels the floor so its flat in boot.

Anyone know the largest alloy i can get in there?
And spec of alloys?
I know its 4x100 PCD.
But what about the offset and centre bore size etc?

Thanks!

You could get a hold of the pref-facelift boot gubbins - a polystyrene storage tray either side raises the height up so the full size will fit. I've just done the opposite as it happens, to make my boot a bit deeper :)

EDIT: Sorry, just seen you have a 3rd gen not a 4th

If the gap in the boot is designed for a space-saver, then you will always get that increase in height with a full-width spare.

The best bet is to emulate exactly what happens in other vehicles - get some "solid" foam, cut it to size/shape around the sides of the wheel, and then lay your original boot floor on top.

3rd gens having a space saver?
I thought they had full size spares!

Your best bet is gonna be to contact one of the guys breaking a 3g atm and take whatever they have.

That is interesting...

Which means my spare is not OEM then :-(

I'll get a pic tomorrow when I'm back at the barn (have to go into the boot of the 3g anyway, to lift some concrete blocks out of it! )

3g's didn't have spacesavers, full size spare as O.E. and why has it got a 15' spare not a 14' like the other 4 wheels!! I bought a cheap far eastern re for my spare wheel for 30 quid. The facelift model also had the toolkit / accessory poly inserts to raise the spare up level with the cardboard floor inner.
