Hi, I have for sale a privte plate

Never sell private plate before so do not know how to do this, but if anybody will be interested then we sort that, will call to DVLA.
Also do not know what kind of administartion, transferations fees need to be paid - maybe somebody know, so

Price: 200 pounds + all DVLA transfer fees

yes and they could ask to inspect it where you would be required to take it for a check to confirm the cars identity. this is not always the case it is just a random thing.

yip £380 for me to get the maserati lude home, then mot it then tax it ok insurance is all on my traders policy but just to get the plate off it and on to something else is a cost of over £500, take off the scrap value of the shell and the small posibility of selling something off it (rear lights?) and it will still owe me over £300. for you on a plate thats only up for sale for £200 its just not cost effective to sell it, may aswell wave goodbye to it.

Unless the plate was on retention before the SORN of that car right?

It can stay on retention till the new car its going on is MOT'd & Insured right?

Have no idea about it, will call DVLA anyway.

Otherwise plate will be scrapped with car :(

If plate is on retention it can be put on any vehicle.

If plate is on a SORN car then the car needs tax and MOT to transfer the plate.

Shame, I just lost my plate in a recent vehicle sale and this would have been a good replacement.

yes correct but if you do a dvla check for the plate its currently on a black 2.2 prelude import, not retention.
if you put a plate on retention it costs £125 and is renewable every year and not linked to a car, no reminders sent and if you dont renew it you lose the plate :o bastards
