I prelude to about 350bhp with boost?
I just want peoples general input, no fighting please ladies.
Mahle gold series pistons are a dead cert, and a K04 turbo boosting to around 1.8 - 2.0 bar, maybe a bigger turbo will be needed not quite sureee.
headwork maybe? standard cams will be ok or uprated? Different inlet from the H22A5 ??

At the wheels or at the fly?
1 bar would be enough. Well 14-15psi since im english.

I take it the mahle golds will be low comp then if I was you I would get the block sleeved with low comp pistons that way your future proof use vtec killer cams maybe

with a turbo (forced induction) headwork isn't really as helpful as with n/a with maybe the atr intake

Ive spoken to scott at H-tune, and looked on some of the american forums. people run un-sleeved blocks on Mahle gold series pistons up to around 550bhp, they only sleeve if they are going over 600.
Im wanting to run over 20 PSI, so when boost hits it really hits. Ideally, more towards 24 psi...
im unsure of what standard cams or ATR cams will achieve or handle BHP wise?

Dude, I can spin the wheels in 2nd with less than 300 bhp, if your shooting for 550 your gunna spin up in every gear, what boost hit are you going to feel if you lose traction as soon as it comes on boost?! I would advise some mega wide tyres on the front

Do you need a stronger gearset with that much power?

Im not aiming for 550, i was just saying thats when id have to sleeve the block.
Im after around 350. Id like to go in a turbo'd lude at around 300 bhp though before i finished my build so i know what to expect really

Ah ok, fair enough, I assumed you wanted 550 ish as 18psi would put me at 420bhp, and that would be supercharged so goodness knows how much bhp the supercharger is consuming at that PSI level..

my friend had a 1.6 8v VTI civic turbo'd, running 18-20 PSI and that run 300bhp

Well, it was on 15's, so all i fel until late 3rd / 4th was wheel spin. But.. it did body lemonade all over so many cars when it was on a rolling start
First gear was useless, 2nd gear was poo as well, 3rd was good IF already rolling.
