Cone filters?
Anyone have any recommendations on cone filters? I will be fitting an aftermarket CAI to my 4G and need a filter to sit in the wing. I see there are a load of cheapo generic filters on Ebay, are these capable or should I invest in a more expensive K&N/Apexi (or similar) type cone filter?

or this cheap one. but check if it has the adaptor plate flange as they screw in to the back. if not then you cant fit it to the inlet tube

or this.

I'd be really interested to see an eBay cai dynoed against one of the mega expensive ones - I don't really understand how the more expensive ones would provide much more benefit, at the end of the day they're just tubes right??Merlin wrote:Unfortunately there is no more money left in my budget for a £250 intake. If the general consensus is K&N or Apexi I might buy a cheapo filter as well and dyno both of themRocketrooney wrote:AEM V2 Highly recommended

Its not the tube I'm comparing, just the filter.jjmartin349571 wrote:I'd be really interested to see an eBay cai dynoed against one of the mega expensive ones - I don't really understand how the more expensive ones would provide much more benefit, at the end of the day they're just tubes right??Merlin wrote:Unfortunately there is no more money left in my budget for a £250 intake. What are the physical differences between the cheaper intakes and the more expensive ones out of interest?
Barry - Not sure. I dont have it yet.
