Auto gear box fault codes.

I have a problem with my 5th gen autobox, not sure if its one of the clutches or the gearbox. Can I pull of fault codes off the ecu?

Is there a gearbox warning light illuminated on the dash? If not you wont be a code to be pulled. What is the issue? When was the fluid last changed?

It's not engaging probably, seems to be a delay then a jerk of power when you pull away. It has been clunking going into reverse for years, but has been okay. I had the fluid changed about 5000 miles ago.
I have no warning lights, but the car does not sound healthy.

do you let it warm up before you drive away?

this seems to be the way of things with a 5g autobox they never last long
