Post by M@dds » Tue Sep 18, 2012 6:57 pm

Hi all

I bought a P28 for my lude and on inspection noticed this

Has anyone got any ideas as to what this controls? and as to wether this means my P28 is silicone toast?

Screwing up almost all of my ebay listings, and your pic above... Grr

Have you tested the ECU to see if it works?

Looks fried, It can be replaced but the PCB board below looks fubar'd to. Is that number next to it 030? Could probably find out.

A common thing is people using these ECU's with 4th gen peak and hold injectors and not installing the resistor box - it fries the driver circuit of the board - that could be part of it???

If the writing on it is still legible, you could find the correct component and then it could probably be replaced.

The board underneath just looks like scorched from the burn, probably no real damage.

LO

Looks like Q31 ( normal transistor part number on PCBS , i lay them out you know ;) ) , like Gayno stated if you can read the component number on the device you may be in luck , then remove and check the tracking underneath to see if its all in-tact

Good luck with it matey 8-)

I quess it's not possible to find the circuit diagram for the board anywhere :?:

Cheers ;)

What Phil said... I'd give it a try and see what happens. Might be to do with something that isn't used on your setup.

that part of the board may not do anything

p28 was used for different cars, with or without vtec, manual & auto

so some parts of the board are not used

still get a new transistor soldered in like toad said the traces might be ok
