5th gen japspeed radiator...got it cheap due to a crushed pipe and had it fixed by a local alloy specialist
had a go at fitting it today....fffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuudge it doesnt even come close to fit. i have a 97 vti uk model. the radiator fan fixings come no where near fitting
the lower mounting pegs aint even close...
and even if i overlook these things i cant close the bonnet
is it possible that i have a 4th gen rad?? or are there any other variations??

Oh!.....................I've recently bought something similar from a forum member.
I did kinda expect it to not all line up, but yours looks totally wrong.

Not the first time a Japspeed radiator hasn't fit

Neller had similar issues with his. Sadly not much you can do if it's second-hand and you've had work done on it

Apart from maybe find a car it does fit and sell it on, but that could be anything!

I have a ally rad I got cheap too, says it fits a 5th gen and thought I'd get it to fit. I will, quite easily, but I'm going custom with alot of things, including fitting new slim fans. HOWEVER...this rad is smaller overall dimension to the one I had in my 4th gen. It's thicker core so overall more cooling potential.
Could you measure the dimensions of yours as a whole unit, then measure the distance between the bottom leg mounts and same for top please. Plus maybe a pic of the rear to show the fan mount points. I'll do the same on mine, if it turns out you have a 4th gen one and I have a 5th gen one, could be a potential swap situation to make our lives easier?
Let me know. I'll measure mine tomorrow straight after work.
Cheers,
Rob

Then it is agreed. We shall go forth and measure, measure till we have the dims of truth!
Reconvene tomorrow then, fingers crossed.
