Fuel Tank and MPG

Post by toadster » Mon May 07, 2018 11:53 pm

Lo Peops :D
Does a Lude really have a 60 ltr fuel tank :?:
The most I have had to fill my tank with gallons wise is 10.91 gallons or just under 50 ltrs and thats with the warning light coming on a lot.
That would mean I should have more than two gallons left in the tank , I don't know if I would want to risk it
My MPG figures on my Lude has been max 33.29 min 25.61 over last 45k.
How does that compare to you guys :?:
I guess my Lude being an Auto reduces my MPG figures a tad too.
Still seems a bit low for a 2.0i though :(
Cheers all ;)

Fuel light comes on with around 12 litres remaining so it's correct. 60litre tank.
25-33mpg is about what I got out of both my 2.0i manual 4th gens and my 5th green type S before I supercharged it.

Be happy. My 2016 Euro 6 diesel vw t6 only gets 29mpg. It's bloody awful in this day and age considering my t5 Euro 5 got 35-42mpg. And it's essentially the same van.

I'd say the mpg isn't far off for an auto.

As for the tank, I find the same thing, in that 50l is about the max when I think I'm running near empty.
That's not such a bad thing, though. Who knows what's at the bottom of a 20 year old tank waiting to be slurped up?

I used to monitor the MPG of my 5th gen. 22 mpg with a lot of VTEC but calmed that down to 25-26 after a few years.

My Elgrand 3.5 automatic gets 18 mpg on average.

With highly scientific back-of-a-fag-packet calculations, my Prelude seems to return a mid-twenties mpg figure. Mind you, most of that is pootling around / stop-start traffic locally. It seems to do a bit better on the motorways.
