Can I use the drive shaft from an automatic 4th gen on a manual 4th gen (specifically a 1995 2.2 VTEC) ?

Typical. The autos have no intermediate shaft like the manuals,, so it's super long in comparison to the manual. The cv joints would all mate up,, so if you've a broken manual cv joint they can be swapped between shafts.

I had prpblems doing exactly this on a 5G, the shafts where ever so slightly different lengths requiring a spacing washer to actually preload the bearing. Would avoid....
