I'm sure this has been asked many times and you can answer it in your sleep but what oil would you recommend for a 1999 2.2 VTEC Prelude automatic?

Many Thanks :D

any good 10w-40 fully synthetic for engine oil is normally whats recommended
although i run 5w-30 fully synth in both my old ludes
i try to keep it under £20 for 5 litres as i change the oil every 4-6months ;)

Stick to 10w40. There have been a few oil pump failures in the past, all had switched to 5w30 not long previous.

I use Miller's CFS.

That was my first suspicion, as the first few at that time (including mine) were all using Fuchs Titan Pro Race 5w30. But as the numbers grew slightly so did the range of brands. They were all 5w30 though.

Thanks for the info - Millers it is then! I love my Prelude but I find it mind-boggling looking at the modifications so many of you do. Sadly, its all I can do to find the bonnet catch!!

Guys!

5W-40 full syntetic

is the Way to go in any B and H Series Engine!! Its recommend in ITR and ATR Manual!
I drive this oil now for years in my EE8, DC2, 2x BB1, and also D Engine EH6.

If the engine got only 10 40 before but is not harmed go with 5 W 40. If its harmed badly already it doesnt matter anyway.
I drive my Hondas careful til 70-80 degree oil (2k rpm max) and then i go VTEC as much as possible. No Issiues.
I can only recommend to get the proper oil. Especially in H22s !
