Engine off, pull the fuse, leave for 10-20 seconds, put fuse back, start the car. This will reset the ECU and clear all stored CEL codes.

Honestly bud, you need to bleed the coolant system through.

You don't have to drain the whole thing, although it is recommended to replace the coolant every 2 years regardless of the mileage.
There's a bleed valve on the thermostat housing. Coolant needs to be oozing out of this bubble-free when it's open and the engine is running.

If it hasn't completely sorted it, there's probably a bit more air still in there. Run it until it's hot a few times and squeeze the rad pipes (top and bottom) to dislodge any more trapped air.

Does the temp go above the halfway mark?

How long are you waiting? Mine sometimes take a good hour to kick in if it's just left to warm up. Depending on how cold it is they might not kick in at all
