tom is the guy i am speaking to and his engine builder both great guys. He has only just got it to the stage where its daily driveable as they never lasted very long before lunching themselves, but there is a load of engineering that has to go into the head. All the oil galleries have to be remachined and run externally the cams have to be remachined to run from the other side of the head it has to have a special headgasket machining to the piston crowns and a load of other stuff

yeh but it would be another one of those hell of alot of money/work for very little gain situations.
Im all for doing something different for the sake of doing something different but there are better and simpler ways in my opinion
I was asking more in the sense of why the need to flip the head when trying to make the engine run backwards, I thought someone had suggested you needed to.

yeh but the bloke whos done it on that honda-tech thread states himself it makes absolutley no extra power on a stock car and would only make power if you directly fed air from the front into the itbs. btcc cars only did it to get the engine as far back as possible. which is a much better reason. still alot of work but i guess if your on a big budget every little helps

Well that was a great engine that worked well in the 5th gen Accord on BTCC and JTCC...but they had reverse rotation with sequential gearbox...and destrocked to 2000cc still good 350bhp
As for the engineering....well just say you have to do allot of stuff..tapping oil galleries, Neil Brown headgasket(expensive) machining the water and coolant sensor ports, making the vtec running with a machined plate, custom exhaust, cam machining ect...
