Yeah, sorry Tiger. That part number was for the 2.2l VTEC.
£40 is a lot of money. It works out at £10 per year if you change it when you should (every 4 years).

I'm a sucker for quality parts! :poke:

Having said that, I bought another brand new second-hand one for less than £20 from a forum member. Should see me alright until 2017.

Took it into our local friendly garage/exhaust centre today. Left it with them, they repaired the leaking joint where the manifold and downpipe meet. Still having slight problems on set off but the power is there now. He also advised I took the baffle out of the tail pipe as it was choking the car too.

He said it may take a little while for the ecu to sort itself out, but in the mean time it's improving bit by bit.

Help needed again please!

Ok, after I had the leak sorted on the exhaust the car was brill for a week or so. Now it's back to how it was again. Engine light comes on when it feels like and It's choking up when setting off in 1st.

I've tried to find the 2pin connector under the dash to do the paperclip test, but can't find it anywhere. (I Did find the alarm box though so I can look at fixing that at some point now) Any ideas?

I also can't find the OBD connector, could anyone give me a clue please? Where is it and is it an ODB1 or 2 connector?

Oh btw, it's a 96 BB4

Thanks in advance
Alison

The service connector in the 4th gen is a right git to get to first time around. Its attached to a plastic popper that is itself attached to a small beam that runs parallel to the face of you radio head unit. The popper is located directly underneath the head unit buried beneath the centre console trim.

The OBDI connector (3 pin?) is right next to the service connector.
