I've got a manifold someone has ground the lower section and it looks aweful, just use the hondata gasket, I can't tell you how much material to remove I just do it all by eye and then check it on my spare engine.
Just do everything rosko says and it'll be fine, only thing I changed was metric grub screws.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Me and Vanzep were looking at that pic of that the other day. In that pic Vanzep noticed that the lower vacuum port (right next to that ground bit, also number 5 in the below pic) had been ported, any idea why? On my ATR IM (and other peoples) this lower vacuum port is blanked off and not used.106pete wrote:I've got a manifold someone has ground the lower section and it looks aweful,
Nick, for you reference on where the vacuum lines go (on my Lude anyway

This this what they are?
1. Brake booster
2. PCV hose
3. Fuel pressure regulator
4. MAP sensor
5. blanked off

Yeah that port no.5 has no use on the prelude engine, it doesn't really need blanking as it's not going to effect anything at all.
Merlin, how does your brake booster pipe look when it's connected? I always move them to the back square for the oem pipe

My brake booster pipe was angled when I got it. If it were pointing in the "OEM" direction my brake booster pipe would be too kinked. As it stands now my one points forward and allows a smooth curve of the brake booster pipe:
You can just see it in the top of this pic:

Nick, for you reference on where the vacuum lines go (on my Lude anyway). There will be a difference as your ATR TB has the MAP sensor on it. 4th gens have their MAP sensor on the firewall connected by a vacuum hose.

i will check this out tonight but it does seem that hondata thermal gasket means you dont need to do any clearancing
that leaves only the injectors to check - they were sold to me as atr injectors - but i can see that the fuel rail is a P13/H22A rail and aftermarket mouting bracket and that the area around the injector shrouds has been ported - surely the injectors will be H22A ones

thanks for the info pete106pete wrote:Yeah that port no.5 has no use on the prelude engine, it doesn't really need blanking as it's not going to effect anything at all.
