I've got a green power flow filter:

Fitted it to my civic (now in a box in the cupboard) but if the neck size is the same as the pipe then it'll be fine.

You might get more power out of a cheap filter, but then it might not filter as well. I'd rather have 1 or 2 bhp less if then engine will last twice as long by using a filter that filters what it should.

what he said.

Just make sure the filter surface area will flow enough air.
Too small a filter will restrict air flow requirements.
You can never go too big. Engine will draw the optimum air requirements it needs.

Cheapo filter will provide similar airflow but won't filter aswell down to the cheapo grade of the material. You'll end getting bigger particles into the motor and causing damage to valves etc. Was a fairly lengthy discussion about it on PUK a year or so back.

JUST CHUCKING IN AN OPTION

this is a standard S2000 air filter that sits inside a housing on one, quite large to allow lots of air through with an 88mm (outside) diameter inlet. around £30 in blueprint form the part numbers on the box but its a throwaway item. lets 240 bhp into a standard engine though.
