OVer Fueling

Post by Roystan » Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:48 pm

Firstly i apologise for being AFK to anyone i pm'd a while back. Some personal issues arose and i've been offline for awhile.

Anyway. My dad has a JDM Import (D_Tox.... Many may remember his red one that got hit by a tree or a White one that my sister wrote off.... from Prelude UK).

Anyway he's been boring my car while he sorts out his import (oil leak).

And he's noticed my Lude is over fueling. Would the ECU throw up a code to diagnose this problem (i haven't done this yet haven't got the car back).

Anyway... I'll get the symtpoms as to why he says this, but if this is the cars... basically how do i find out where or why it's doing it.

Any help is appreciated.

btw. My Car dumps black smoke in 2nd and 3rd gear when i hit VTEC if thats a symptom.

Regards,

Royst.

could b an air leak or the 02 sensor playin up . there are quite a few things that could cause overfuelling though

Thanks.

Well i'm pulling any codes from the ECU the weekend and im also going to reset the ECU.

Replace various sensors (thermo, lamba) etc. and see how that goes.

Spoke to dad, he said its more noticeable when in second the car constantly hesistates and goes no where most of the time.

And he's also comparing to his import he gets 400miles out a full tank. Mine you get 300 if your lucky. and i don't vtec anymore or drive crazy. lucky to catch me over 40mph nower days. (60 on motorway)

Fingers crossed the CEL is for the 02 sensor and its an easily identifiable fix

give it a good spank through the gears up and down a country road a couple of times, usually sorts out my cars :)
