Removing the FITV shouldnt be a problem as its not electronically controlled like the IACV. Also the FITV is only open during cold start up, once the engine is warm the FITV is closed and has no operation.

How was the FITV bypassed? Did you reconfigure the lines to the IACV properly? If it isnt hooked up properly the IACV may be affected perhaps causing the high idle.

You need to connect 1-1 and 2-2 like in the below pic.

I'm not sure how it works, but when I replaced it back with my oem TB it never happened again

nothing was wrong with the other TB, but could have been something else

Right I've done a lot of messing around with it and realigned the butterfly then the fitv is back on.

The main problem seems to be the tb is jamming when the engine warms up and spending more time centralising it has really helped but not fully. Now im guessing I need to reset the ecu to allow for this new adjustment and pray it goes away lol.

How long do I need to disconnect the battery to reset the ecu? An hour?

10-15 seconds. Pull the clock radio fuse in the engine bay fuse box.

sorry for hijack but could the TPS be causing my slight delay in throttle response? especially from idle, when i put a bit of throttle on there's just like a half second delay in pick up. and when i take my foot off the throttle, the revs seem to hang high for a second too...
