B series gearbox in a prelude

Post by njord » Thu Mar 29, 2018 6:50 pm

Has anyone put a b series gearbox onto a h22 but in a prelude shell.

I know it's odd but I'm after a sequential gearbox and there's a quaife one that's available for the b series and it would be easier than custom making loads of things to do another after market gearbox

You can obviously buy b-series adaptor plates for swapping H22's into Civics/Integras etc, so the mounting wouldn't be an issue. You'll have to go custom on the gearbox mount though no doubt, and I don't know what kind of offset the adaptors give to know whether the gearbox would foul on anything in the bay.

I'm sure it would have been done already mind, most likely in the States, so maybe worth checking the US Prelude forums.

Would need to cut a whole in the floor pan for the linkage to go through as b series uses a rod an that's if it even goes the correct route. Time you buy all the bits needed/parts made up I recon it be quite expensive.

It looks like I've found a company which will make one up for me.

They have a universal gearbox that the use on the b series but you can have different beltl housing so it will fit straight onto the h22
