An m90 would work, just you would have to run a large sc pulley to get yr desired psi

Hey Mudgey,

Point taken on increasing the pulley size but pretty sure there's inefficiencies in doing so. I did run the maths a while back on an M90 or M62 from a book I have. The M62 gave a better performance for our engine size. Plus not sure how big the pulley would have to go to make that work.

On a plus note, I found the car the M62's are on Danni - you want a 230 CLK or SLK. It's a clutched pulley, so you could even hook it up to a switch and have two maps on and off boost. I say 'if', too much work personally.

I would not fit a double-sided belt: I'd worry about reliability. Optimising the tension without over-tightening is more problematic, especially at the belt speeds involved. In most industrial applications I know of, double-sided belts are seen as an inelegant compromise.

I've looked under the bonnet of my car and visualised the space available once the aircon is taken out and the battery is relocated into the boot. It looks as if there's room enough to fit the pipework. Having said that, I'd be keen to see an existing installation ....
