Lude Generation

Hey guys,

Since I bought the car, I have had a few bolt on breather mods installed. I have had a JapSpeed mani and down pipe installed, also a Solid Fabrications cat back as well as an AEM V2.

I was reading that if you change anything on the car, regardless of it only being something as small as an induction kit, it would help having it set up correctly to make the most use out of the new mods.

Have I just been drawn into spending more money than I need to on the her or would I benefit at all from having the car put on the dyno and set up? Reckon it will be a noticeable difference?

if you went for bigger inlet mani and/or higher lift cams then maybe
it would be worth doing.

some cars can be retuned even after they came out from factory, some cars have wider map so small mods will work with standard map, but still can be fine tuned

Thanks guys, but after reading both of your answer's, I am no closer to deciding what to do...

I'm no expert, but I would think that if you reset the ecu it will set itself fairly well to the new set up. Though, I believe, it will do that in time anyway. Remapping can be done at anytime but I would think this only necessary after significant changes.

I would say with just breathing mods it isnt really worth the outlay. you either have to get a socketed ecu and get it tuned or a aftermarket ecu like hondata etc. either way your probably looking at a fair few hundred quid for not alot of gain. As said above if you change cams etc. then its worth doing otherwise your money could be better spent elsewhere

for the mods you have listed,me personally wouldnt pay for a rolling road set up,u wont benefit a great deal from it but you will be lighter in the pocket

For just breathing and exhaust mods, resetting the ECU will be enough.
It does take a while for it to adjust to the optimum.
