Will I benefit from a set up?
If you've got the a8 motor (99-00) 5g then you'd be well worth a tune as that could see you an exta 30-40bhp.
If you got the a5 motor (97-98) 5g, then I'd be with these guys and probably not worth it. Put some ATR cams in and with a tune you'd be looking 220-230bhp.

they werent new but from a fairly low milage engine, i think a7's tend to eat their cranks before you have issues with top end on them so there is more heads and cams that bottom ends
i also fitted an atr inlet mani fold and fitted a s200 and had it tuned, i got 230bhp @ the fly but i feel it had more potential if a different tuner did it !
i contacted vtec direct through accordr.org

That's how I got hold of the a7 head for my build. He's prob right about the tuner too, phil has the same numbers as me and I'm on 10:1 instead of 10.6:1 compression. Bennyboy had similar work done with 11:1 compression and got 244bhp using the same tuner as me.

just a quick note on resetting the ecu. they never reprogram themselves, all that happens is the long and short fuel trims reset . this is calculated from the closed loop running of the car using your o2 sensor to monitor fuel mixture. the base map ignition table is the same, just the adjustments are reset. it will learn these as you drive not on idle.
