Just left a comment of the FB page. hope you like it ;-)

How many point cage are you going for? Are they tieing it in with the front shock towers out of interest?

It is a case of I left it with him and what ever has been done to the car is what I get. We agreed on basing it on a 6 point safety cell (which conforms to the MSA guidelines) and then he will throw as much extras at it as he can. So extra door bars, more criss-crossing of the rear etc... I'll be discussing with him next week what is being done with tying to the front shock towers.

The class I am in has no restrictions on adding supports to the suspension so he has the freedom to explore 8-)

I finally managed to get hold of a pair of 5th gen rear upper arms to replace the 4th gen pissweak rear upper arms. I am convinced I have bent one of my arms, although I have never got around to checking it. I all of a sudden had a wheel alignment issue that was traced to the rear passenger wheel (the side that takes all the punishment from Knockhill).

The 5th gen rear upper arms come from the factory with a strengthening plate on them:

Buzzonion Vtec wrote:Stock rear upper wishbone or UCA as it's sometimes known. Although generally considered to be strong enough for road use I have had my doubts for some time over it's ability to resist twisting during hard use - you can in fact twist them relatively easily in your hands. Honda must have had the same doubts too as the later 5th gen received a hefty plate addition to beef up their arms.

So without wanting to resort to buying new 5th gen UCAs which are actually too far the other way...over engineered and much too heavy, I decided to make use of the 4th gen items I had and a little bit of structural work. The pic below goes from OEM arm, through the modifying process right through to painted, cleaned up inner joints and new poly bushes. Job done.

Yeah the rear suspension on 4th and 5ths are essentially the same.

I don't have weight OCD like what Rich has so I went with the easy option of the 5th gen arms. I think I remember 4thgenphil strengthening his ones.

Yeah, I planned to strengthen mine the same as Rich did also.
