The Mustang

Well as it didn't take long for y'all to guess that I've bought a Mustang, I figured I have to now give you guys some pictures to enjoy too. It's a 1980 Foxbody fastback with the 3.3L straight 6 lump in it. Not a bad piece of kit, will be a good bit of fun. It's a bit ropey, but you'll have to forgive the condition of it, seeing as I've bought it for £250 (the guy originally wanted £500 for it, but my mate knocked him down to £250)

Well it's a lovely motor, pulls nicely, and good on juice too (Buckinghamshire to Kent on less than £20 of fuel!)

There's a few issues with it, the main, and worst one, being the steering coupling is actually broken, so you have about 30 degrees of movement where the steering isn't actually connected, but it's like driving any yank tank!

It has an issue of overheating, found a core plug sat on top of the transmission, but it doesn't seem to be losing water really. The problem is though as well is that the temperature gauge has packed up too, so I have no idea on the temperature at the moment which doesn't really help!

The rear wheel bearings need sorting out as they're droning away.

Other than that, there's a bit of a mess of wiring behind the centre console which needs ripping out and tidying, and then just the obvious body work, but otherwise she's solid!

She's got potential to look pretty mean bud, but with those issues is she going to be worth it? Not quite the bargain after all. You're going to struggle for parts in this country... Even with your connections

Got a new steering column and coupling on its way, sand for rear wheel bearings, got all the trim, and just gotta sort the wiring out.

The core plug I have so I'll just knock that back in.

Nothing too difficult to sort really.
