Sid the Trike

Well the trike project has now begun!! Collected the bike this morning and it really nice! Fair condition for its age, and rides really well from what my mate was saying. I was having a bit of a play around doing short runs pulling away on my mate's forecourt and it's very nice, will make a great trike.

The plan is to remove the front fairings and either relocate all the bits that are behind the fairing, or make up some plates to go over the bits on the sides. Or if it looks alright as it is with the fairing off, leave it like that.

I will leave the rest of the body work as it is, but I'll paint the tank and the rear fairings satin black to make it look a bit better and to tie in with the rat survival look I'm going to go for.

Here's some pics from today.

And having a bit of a play on it

For those of you wondering why it's called Sid, my mate mark made a good point that the engine on the side looks like Sid the sloth from Ice Age

I had to get a photo of Sid and Marvin together as well parked up side by side :D

It'll be a soft tail (unfortunately) due to a hard tail being classed as a frame alteration, therefore requiring an sva.

I must admit, it's probably the project I've been looking forwards to the most out of any of my previous projects, and plus it's going to be my daily driver so I can't wait on that side of things too :)

I just hope the weather stays nice for a couple more months till its done :)

Finishing off someone else's project can often lead to opening up a can of worms!! Plus that would require an SVA which is more money and time!

dom, seeing your 2 together, why dont you make the front fairing nose incorporate a single pop-up headlight and paint the tri-bike the same colour
