One of the very rare intercooler models that made it over here. Imported in....2009... so NO RUST. No bloody dirt at all to be honest. As I understand it it was imported by the company I bought it off for a friend of the owners who was the local publican. She put 10k on it in her 6 years of ownership and finally got the import company to put it on the market for her as it was in the garage getting no use at all. Minty fresh doesnt even cover it.
You can tell she has been stored in a garage for the whole of her life as, now its outside in the elements, all the oils are leaching out of the rubbers

Bought to downsize the fleet and be a crew vehicle at events. Also I wanted another import to drive.
This is the list of works that got done finally. Finished yesterday. There were a number of other service bits, gaskets and cleanings that went on. this is the main list.

Brake inspection and service/clean.
Refill viscous fan with oil
Remove EGR system.
Delete in radiator oil cooler and replace with external cooler.
Thermostat
oil change/filter
brake fluid bleed

All belts
Clean intercooler
dif oils
trans oil flush
Grease all zerks

Install water temp gauge into top hose boss.
Install Pyrometer/EGT sensor into manifold.
Install boost guage into intercooler pressure pipework.
Install transmission temp gauge into sump.
Install manual boost controller
Powdercoat wheels
New tires.
The thing that took the time was the powdercoat. The wheels didnt pass QC so had to go back through

Well worth it though.....

after much research I decided on Michelin Latitude cross. 65/35 road/off and looking pretty funky

She came with this funky controller.....

How utterly retro is that?

Its a remote vehicle starter

I have put a couple of personal touches on her

And this is the flight deck

We have :
Water temp as it comes out the block (in tandem with the OE gauge which is post radiator to give a view of the radiator performance) Alarmed
ATF temp at the sump Alarmed
Boost Alarmed
Exhaust gas temps Alarmed
Volts
Air temp at the filter
Air temp post turbo and intercooler

This will give us plenty of warning of things going south (which they can, fast, when towing) and allow me to keep a record of nicolas driving as they have peak hold and memory functions

And finally....... Does she pass the test?

Pics of the oil cooler instal coming up.
Thanks for looking. Any comments welcome
