Congrats on getting the issues sorted. Shame about the water pump :(

I have a few comments though. The oil sandwich plate, ideally you should run a capillary line from the sandwich plate to the oil pressure sensor. Mounting the sensor directly to the plate can cause the pressure sensor to snap off due to vibration. Capillary lines are easy to get hold of. You could remove the sandwich plate altogether and run the capillary line from the OEM oil pressure warning sensor location?

I was advised that the top hose was not the best place for water temp readings. The best (most accurate place) is at the thermostat. You can install a sensor in the bleed nipple. Bleeding can be done by removing the hose that normally goes to the FITV ;)

that's some great advice thanks Merlin i will look at doing this tomorrow.

if you could help clarify the parts needed that would be great.

water temp:
simply drill the hole and ptfe the sensor in place?

oil pressure
remove green oil pressure sensor
I would like to use the oem oil pressure location, what thread size is that?
for the capillary line i need a 1/8 NTP? is this on both ends?

thanks again for this information and advice...

Yeah you drill out the bottom part of the bleed nipple hole. The top part is threaded so all you do is widen out the lower part so that the water gets good contact with the sensor. The hole in the thermostat housing will be 1/8 BSP and your sensor will most likely be 1/8 NTP. The sensor will go in, it might not want to come back out though. This was not an issue for me. I am pretty sure I just used sealant. Tape would be fine as well.

There are a few ways that you can do this. Essentially you have to get oil from a female 1/8 BSP fitting in the block to a male 1/8 NTP sensor. You can do this by using any combination of BSP to NTP male to male converters, BSP or NTP capillary lines, and any type of T piece (if you want to use one).

This shop seems to have a good selection. http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/sender-adaptors

Let me know if you need any help picking parts.

OK

so for some reason the rear engine mount was playing silly buggers for over an hour yesterday and i need to get that off my chest the fuuuuuuuuuucking thing lol

so now i have that over with lets start with a useful update...

Timing belt refitted with manual tensioner reset with all lines an notches meeting TDC
New heater hose in place after the old one DID NOT want to come off
Tegiwa brake stopper fitted HOWEVER the bolt supplied was too short!!?? FFS  so we made our own :geek:

Engine was then ready to be fitted which took a lot longer than it should which is explained very well above

We also wanted to try and improve the angle of the manifold exit as it was pointing slightly north and not straight so the vice and a bit off heat was used to do some gentle persuading? :?

all ancillaries are now refitted all pipes back on, Rad in, harness clipped back in ready for a refill and hopefully NO leaks and long runs next week!!! :D

we did have some issues:
the alternator i got from someone off here has a 4 rib pulley whilst the Euro crank pulley is a 5 rib which when i got the part number for the Prelude belt this was also a 5 rib so god knows what alternator i have got here??? anyway we took the stanley knife to the belt and removed a rib or two (for now)

also with the alternator the top securing bolt head snapped off whilst fitting  it is in far enough to hold this alternator in place however removing this should i ever need to is going to be a major arsehole lol

also with the alternator we cannot find the lower adjustment securing bolt/bracket  IF ANYONE HAS ONE CAN YOU PM ME A PRICE POSTED PLEASE....

We also broke the sensor clip on the air temp sensor  so again if anyone has one can you PM me a price posted.... or if you know if this is not needed? i am sure it is what i may do is once its running put a blob of glue on there...

ok i think that is the end of the update/moan and tapping here are a couple of pics of were we left it yesterday...
