Here's some picture for you Dom ;-)

Leaves the engine bay a bit closer to my liking ;-)...

Image

And I never really noticed how far and tilted forward the engine is!...

Image

See anything else I missed? ;-) ...

Image

Also I wondered whether you'd want the valve cover also, for the breather. I assumed you wouldn't. I'd ask to do a swap on that otherwise...

As you know getting to the lower flange bolts was a complete bitch, but there were also a few connection I had to snip to allow me to remove it. There was one sensor that screws to the underside of the manifold that started rounding off as I tried to remove it. My only option was to cut the wire, so I left enough for you to splice to should you need to. I would have had to cut it anyway if you wanted it as it's part of the engine loom and ther was no way I was removing that!

Then there was a second pull cable coming from the throttle body which reached down to the gearbox. I assumed this was an automatic choke, but again I couldn't remove it and was unsure whether you'd need it anyway, so again I've cut this.

I think there was one or two other engine loom connections as well. One was a simple bullet connection, so I just pulled that apart, but the other I had to cut, but again, I've left you plenty to splice to should you need it. (I imagine you won't be using half of these, but thought you should have them all the same.)

You've also got a temp sensor that screws into the thermostat housing, (You can see where I've unscrewed that from in the pictures.) a firewall bracket that our EX-2.0i's don't have for the brake master cylinder hose, and also the two inlet manifold support brackets that fix underneath.

Let me know if there's anything else you think you'll want.

And Let me know about the valve cover as I'll need to be looking for an even bigger box if you do want it ;-)

Sam, yea, I've seen NOTEC stickers before, but my car isn't NOTEC, as VTEC wasn't an option back then, so it truly is PRETEC

That's sweet, cheers mate. :D

I won't need the valve cover as mine already has a breather pipe on it, but I have a mini cone filter on the end of it, so you won't be needing a bigger box

The second pull cable, that would probably have been the kickdown cable if it connected to the gearbox and it's an automatic transmission, as an auto choke would generally run on a vacuum system. Thought the carb'd CA5's were manual choke anyways? Ah well, I'll be upgrading to a Weber 38 as soon as I can anyways, and that'll be a manual choke set up anyways

Look forwards to getting the bits, lemme know when you've found a box how much the postage will be :D

Front Fog Lights Installed

Post by Crazy_C » Sat Aug 04, 2012 3:34 pm

As some of you may know, I was after a set of the OEM front fogs for Marvin, but as they're rarer than rocking horse jobby, I got some aftermarket ones and they fill the gaps perfectly and I'm really pleased with them :D

Stage 1 cam, pulley and painted rocker cover

Post by Crazy_C » Thu Sep 06, 2012 1:41 pm

Well I've taken this week off work to do a top end rebuild on my Aerodeck with a stage 1 cam and an adjustable pulley (courtesy of Yasu) and it's running great. New head gasket, skimmed head, new cambelt, new tensioner and new manifold gaskets.

Painted the rocker cover too whilst it was off, same colour as the bumpers.

It's not much faster, just a bit faster, but the power comes on a lot smoother now and it pulls better at lower revs.

New Sub

Post by Crazy_C » Thu Nov 22, 2012 11:07 pm

Well I've not really been doing much to the Aerodeck as I've been playing with the trike project more so recently, plus I've run out of smaller things to do to the 'deck, and next step is window tints and a restoration.

But I have decided to get a new sub for the install, and Ratty, I'm sure you are going to turd all over this!! It's a brand new Shadow Works Genesis sub :D These subs are the dog's danglies and are pretty hard to get a hold of too, seeing as the company went bust a few years back as they're all hand made by a guy up in Scotland. He still makes a few now and again, but not many.

I need to tidy up the carpet though, but I swapped the subs over before work today, so you'll have to forgive the mess.

And it even has my portrait on it too!!

What are you holding here Dom? It looks small, but it also looks a little suspect :? ...

I bet that guy on the left is Polish right?

And what is that place?! Do cars actually pass through it, or is it just a meeting spot? Is that where Phil had his mag pictures taken?
