no just slightly out of phase so it gets all the charge burnt

I've just done a bit of research and apparently some of the newer twin sparks use a single plug on each cylinder but fire it twice per cycle :idea:

then they are just a wasted spark ignition not a true twinspark fiat have a lot to answer for they have slowly ruined alfa romeo :evil:

what difference does it make if its 1 or 2 plugs? (i dont know anything about twin spark lol)

the system with 2 plugs uses 2 dizzys one runs off the cam the other runs off the crank so they both fire based on the info from those 2 different sets of timing info.
the later one plug is a cost saving exercise with a wasted spark set up meaning the plug fires twice per revolution of the crank so wont really offer the power increase/flexibility that the original one does it has just become a gimmik.
It was always debatable how much extra power it gave possibly not a lot but now its just a cheap ignition system. Cheap ignition systems fire more than once in a cycle to make sure they burn the charge/lower emmissions.
