Good shout. To add to that, the 'mass in service' on the logbook of my trooper is 2465kg, from memory that's the weight of the truck + tank of fuel + average size driver. So if you go by the rule above (which I think originated from the caravan club) the GTW should be about 2000kg to stick to the 80% rule of thumb.Thebusofwoe wrote:Thanks Drax. Yea the manual says a total GTW (trailer and load weight combined) of 3500kg. But as a rule, you should try and keep the GTW to 70-80% of the towing vehicles weight. Just as a safe rule.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

Again, spot the feck on
really coming together now. Maybe put that info in wiki or something maybe
yea was the caravan club rule of thumb. At the end of the day, the trooper can pull 3.5 ton and carry an extra 6-800kg itself. That's just
mad. I will have a look at the maximum axel load front and rear in the cars manual later.

I was just looking at snorkals ect actually. All I want to do eventually is snorkel, them black modular wheels and better tyres. That's it tbh.

sounds about right.
I can see a future of fields and fence posting for mine as and when so a two inch lift and some undercarriage armour plates, winch, big lighting rig on bars etc will no doubt come into the package
I cant help myself.
You are only a two hour drive away so keep me up to date on any really good looking rodeo's, bighorns, troopers or the like that come through. I am not in the market yet by any means, I have to sell off three other vehicles come spring to float it, but I am interested in what comes through.
If a one careful owner 110k 3.1TD FSH garaged Rodeo came across your palm who knows??

Re: The new tow truck, Trooper
Because it's the oldest now. They are getting on a bit and the newer stuff is more refined mechanically. I mean I don't know but I'd imagine that's where the market is going now. I think
You can still get the 3.1 in the shape I have. Unless they are just conversions, which apparently are very easy
