Everyone needs a project!! So satisfying every time you make progress. Not going to lie though, sometimes you feel a bit like this:

Good work jj +rep
i think we used a 17mm box spanner to remove the nut on the engine mount the other day
if any of the rubber bits on the mounts looks past theyre best then you might want to stick a bit of sikaflex in there to firm things up - easy to do when the engines out ;)

Cool, looks like another tool to go borrow from my mechanic friend  was wondering what would do it, I just didn't have anything that would fit over the stud. I've got the mount out already, but I'd taken the cylinder head off so had more clearance. Just wasn't sure what to do when it came to doing it back up with a complete engine in place :? I was thinking about the engine mounts, however my Accord mounts look pretty pristine so it might be overkill?? Does anyone do aftermarket mounts?

Cheers for the encouragement guys! Unfortunately I've been slowed down a bit recently by my girlfriend and I sorting out finding a house together :( long weekend this one though, so time to get cracking I think. Got to get what's left of the block out and swap the wiring over for the new one :?

Well, I got my arse in gear today, got the drive shafts off then pulled the remainder of the engine, like I should've done ages ago

Surprisingly the engine came out no trouble whatsoever, just up and out. Kind of glad I stripped it so far back. Did get an earth strap caught on the gearbox though, and I was looking at the crane wheels for ages wondering why it wouldn't move

Now I've got some space to work with...

Just got to swap out the front engine mount for one of my spares as it's mullered, then sort the wiring loom, and I should be ready for the H22 to go in. I just know it's going to be an arse to get in!! Wish me luck :scaredtoss:

Cheers mate :) I know I'm not even half way to getting this done yet, but I've been putting this off so long I just needed to do something to make me feel like I'm getting somewhere again.

I've started work on the wiring this eve. It's making my head hurt :x I want to use the Prelude ECU and engine loom, but keep the Accord dials and switches etc. I'm not sure how to pull this off though... So I'm hoping someone out there is a prelude wiring expert. Here's my theory so far:

I have to identify every connector that goes onto the engine, ancillaries and sensors. I must then trace these back to the connector at the other end. If it goes to the ECU, all is good. If it doesn't, I need to determine what it should connect to, cut it off and splice it into the equivalent connector in my Accord. However, will this leave wires coming from the ECU which won't have anything to connect to on the Accord? Another thought I've had is that it looks like one of the three connectors my Accord has to it's ECU relates only to interior electronics - if I fit an OBDII-OBDI converter to it, could I just plug that into the lude ECU?

I have a feeling this is all going to make my life hell for a bit :|
