I've always liked the S2ks 8-) Shame they never came with the option of a permanent tin-top though, or I'd have been razzing around in one now :D

All my service parts.
Image

Image

Cusco upper stut braces.
Image

Driveshaft spacers(recommended when lowering the s2k)
Image

Fitted with some thread lock and a torque wrench.
Image

A pic after lowering. About 30-40mm with the konis on the lower perch.
Image
Ride quality on softest setting is better than standard.

Too low?

New wheels test fitted before powder coating.

Problems encountered during greasing of all the alignment bolts before getting a full geo setup.

Typically 1 of the 8 bolts around the car was seized solid.
No amount of penetrating fluid, heat, freeze spray hamering, praying , swearing was getting it out!
last resort.
Image

Image
fitted new bushes both sides and a new bolt to replace the seized one.
Hellish job. But now the suspension is properly aligned it feels and handles much better.
I have much more confidence in the car. Helped by the wider wheels tyres now fitted.

Even before I lowered it and threw things out it felt twitchy but now it is soo much more planted on the road. :)

Japspeed decat fitted at the weekend there.
Image

Image
No increase in volume due to the stock exhaust but it does seem to have freed the engine off a bit as it pulls stronger.

Went for a satin black powder on the wheels.
Quite an aggressive look that goes well with the soft top IMO.
The other option was silver or grey but i thought that was going to be a big hit or miss getting the right colour to work well against the silverstone grey paintwork.
Image

Fitted some lightweight black aftermarket wheel nuts as well.
Image

4 new hancook v12 evos fitted which so far seem good.

Next up brakes!
Replacement front caliper(sticking) braided lines and fresh fluid.

Why the drive shaft spacers? Whats achieved with them afterlowering on 2ks.

The reason for the spacers is that over time the driveshaft bearings wear grooves inside the cups/buckets they sit in.
When you lower it this changes the location of the bearings in the shafts wearing now grooves in the buckets.
So apparently, a vibration can commonly occur where on acceleration the bearings move between the 2 grooves causing a vibration.
The spacers move the the bearings back to a standard location or something to avoid this.

The other option is to swap the cups/buckets from left to right as this gives the bearings a fresh surface to wear into(the side previously contacted in reverse) preventing any potential vibrations.

There seems to be a few people who have experienced this and most owners do it so I got them cheap from friend that had sold his s2k before fitting them so thought why not.
Also gave the rear end a slightly wider track. :)
