A "like" button?

As above. Maybe I spend too much time on facebook but I often find myself reaching for the like button on here - then realising there isn't one. I know there's the +rep button but some things that I like don't necessarily deserve any rep, and I don't really want to add to the post count just to say "lol" or "I like this".
I'm sure many people would welcome this feature to the site, or is it just me?

Just you, I'm afraid.
Posting that one finds something pleasant, amusing, agreeable, micturatiously funny, etc is the art of conversation.
"Like" is variously a conjunctive or adjective bizarrely used by Yorkshire folk, like.
And "thumbup" reminds me of a 1980s joke about a disgraced former Coronation Street actor.

If you have a 'like' button, you need a 'dislike' button too. Facebook is seriously lacking.

What about the 'f' button do at the top of each post? Or does that not do what it should?

Anyway, dunno why I just posted that "I'll get my coat" smiley. You aren't the voice of everyone in here. No-one mentioned it had to be a thumbs up symbol, and if you haven't noticed - one of those already exists.
I'm all for conversation but I don't always have time, and sometimes I see a post that is pages back & so the moment to comment has long gone.
A like button in this instance I think would be handy, and at least let the OP know their comment was appreciated - even if not acknowledged at the time.

I think that just links to your fb profile - at least the only 'f' I can see here does. Not sure if there are more features on a full web browser though as opposed to the mobile browser I'm using?

It just allows you to post a link on your wall.

See this I would like, as I agree - to some extent. We started a like button on the work's intranet (on the ideas board), then people called for a dislike button which was subsequently initiated and it has caused nothing but trouble - but only (I think) because people can't comment as well to substantiate their reasons.
