Gonna keep this to LG as an exclusive!!!

Basically in a nut shell a 4g RWD lude based on a S13 200sx engine and running gear, done on a super cheap budget, so blown engines are gonna be used just to see if it's at all possible to make a lude RWD

I have a BB1 shell in my garden, i've just picked up a blown CA18DET minus turbo and anything useful for £20, and a manual gearbox for £30

So no breaking the bank, just seeing IF it can be done, The shell i have will get scrapped, just gonna use it to learn how to if possible make a lude RWD, if it works bits from the prototype will get used on a decent shell etc

Pics to follow, and reasons why I've plumped for the S13 as a doner

And yes i'm a bit mad, considering i can't weld lol, I'm used to working in wood and fibreglass

This will be epic if it all works out!

In theory shouldn't be too difficult as the centre tunnel runs the length of the car.

Having a think, it will require a cusom fuel tank to bridge the propshaft

Fuel tank will be removed completely and replaced with a racing style tank in the boot :ugeek:

The s13 is very close dimensions wise to the lude, I had toyed with using a Evo 3 engine and drive train as again that's very similar and wouldn't have required fabbing the tunnel for the gear box, BUT Evo's are expensive to buy and the rear diffs aren't very strong cos I'll probably end up drifting this so need it to be up to some abuse.

Also the S13 rear subframe is one complete unit all the upper and lower control arms bolt to that so it makes it easier sorting out geometry etc

PIcs of the shell that's gonna be chopped up

Here you can see the exhaust tunnel that will house the prop shaft

Current 4ws subframe

The main problem is that the Lude uses rear trailing arms where as the S13 doesn't, which i think is gonna be a bit of a headache

S13 rear subframe minus shocks

Image

S13 front subframe with has the engine mounts on it

Image

I still need to research the front suspension setup and work out what i can do with mounting control arms etc as the ludes front subframe will have to be removed to get the gearbox in
