Giomani's Black 5G Beast

Alright....

I have had some fun getting my 2.0i 4g into mint OEM condition over the last year (I wanted to do more but as it belonged to my late mother-in-law my wife wouldn't let me).......... so........

........I decided to join the vtec club and I went out and blew some cash on a nighthawk black 5g red top. I managed to beat down the price as the bodywork is far from mint, but it has low mileage, service history 2 previous owners and seems to be completely OEM.

Here is a picture as it was when I got it:

And the all important.....

Its only MOT'd to the end of the month so i have:

New Brembo Discs and Pads front
Refurb Calipers and generic pads rear
Applied copious amounts of exhaust putty to small hole in back box
purchased new sunroof (cheers Kai) to fit this weekend hopefully.

The plan....
  • I am thinking of going stealth, so anything I can paint black will be black, wheels, tints, brackets etc.
  • I have ordered some weird black side indicators
  • I want to lower her so I am reading up on springs, dampers and coilovers atm.
  • Possible de-badge? is this allowed? or is this considered sacrilegious?
  • Then I am going to think about the engine, it would be nice to get a bit more HP and this is my first ever mod project ever so I know I have a lot to learn.
I will always be grateful for any advice on things to consider and what order I should be going about things.

Anyway... I have an MOT tomorrow so off to do a last once over..

Looks nice mate 8-)

De-badging is allowed, if you remove the 'H' badges it will leave 2 holes in the boot and bonnet, so you'd have to get them filled and painted. The Honda and 2.2 badges on the boot are just stuck on with adhesive pads, you just need to heat them up with a heatgun and gently pry off with a credit card.

I was expecting Giomani's Black Beast to be something sexual.

Its a great base to start with. A8 has all the potential already.

Lude: Yes
Black: Yes
H22a8: Yes!

Is it spoilerless :?

IMO go for coilovers its worth the money. With the a8 a tune may be all thats needed to "unlock" 15-20bhp, I'd look into this first as you'd struggle to hit that with mods.

MOT Success! :D

So I treated the car to the new sunroof and fitted these black side repeaters I acquired. Was too dark for pics when I finished but they look 8-) in the dark.

Yeah no spoiler... :( yet...

What kind of tuning should I be looking into? I am guessing this is not something my local garage would be able to do? Do I need to be looking for specialist?
