My bb4 lightweight

Post by David.slough » Sat Feb 25, 2012 6:26 pm

I took a little roadtrip across to Bristol to pick up my new little baby. :D

I've missed VTEC so much that the 100 mile drive back was a pure pleasure and the car didnt skip a beat.

Filled her up with 70 pounds worth of V-Power goodness and by the time i got home it had only dropped 2 bars on the fuel gague so either i wasnt gunning it enough or fuel ecomony is looking good - i know its the former but makes me smile thinking its not going to cost me an arm and a leg in petrol lol.

The car looks pretty standard and apart from a tiny spot of rust on the front drivers wing and a couple of minor dimples - no rust just dimples - on the rear passenger quarter the car has no rust and no filler...

Got a great price on her too, dropped the seller by 300 quid due to some shot front brake pads and the fact that the rev counter is haywire - i'm hoping its the kpm to mph converter on the blink.

Anyway here are the photos-

I'm not sure on the mats they look original - mind you they need a damm good clean s does the rest of the car. I really wonder about some people why dont they clean car's before they sell them :o

Looks really tidy man - I do like me a white 4th gen 8-) Look forward to seeing what you do with it.

My heart did skip a beat when you said Bristol though, do you have a link to the advert you used when you found it?

It was on Pistonheads -

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3410067.htm

Was a nice seller too, dropped the price by 300 - for the brakes and a few other bits and bobs i found - and included 6 months Tax :D

His son - i think - has a 5th Gen Type-S thats he is selling soon so i said for him to join here and offer it to the many Type-S lovers tht frequent this lovely forum.

Oh dear!! :(
It looks nice but everything he told you about it is probably a lie, including the mileage. :worms:

 I had a thought about the mileage and was working on the basis that it was 88k miles and not 88k km. But what else do you know about the car that I don't? I'm worried now as I thought I had bought a good one but sounds like others already know some faults.

If it's the guy that I think it is, he's notorious for selling clocked cars with hidden faults.
It may not be him, but the advert looks like his usual. All in uppercase with bad spelling.

I think Rob Quilter may be able to find out the genuine mileage. Don't panic just yet!! :scaredtoss:

Turbo timer. LOOL

Don't worry dude, as long as the car drives fine it doesn't matter what the mileage is. :geek:

I'm afraid this has been sold by turbo timer, ATL and whatever other names he is trading under. To cut a very, very long story short, this seller has had multiple names over the past few years. Some members on here have been stung in the past by him, poor cars with faults and also clocked. We proved he was clocking cars and he was being investigated, he's been lying low for a while, but now looks like he's selling again

I remember this car when it came up for sale months ago, as another member viewed it and turbo timer turned up at the same time to view it. Turbo timer bought it, clocked it and put it up for sale.

I did a background check months ago when he first got his hands on it and put it up for sale, it came back with incorrect mileage.

Sorry mate :(
