Yep I removed air con because it never worked in my Type S. Very easy to do. Just 10mm Bolt and follow the lines removing as you go. Get a shorted ac delete belt. Hardest part was removing the expansion valve from the condenser under the dash but still easy.

I then had the pleasure of air con in my work van and that's on 365 days a year. I love it.
So I got the complete air con off another prelude. UK spec but it's the same bar the climate controls.
Installed it and regassed and now I have working air con in the Lude and it's lovely.

Saved about 13kg without it but I love it so I don't mind.

Attach a pipe from the airvent to my trouser pocket and I now have cool balls all be it slightly shrunken as its cold.

Okay so as i dont use the A/C I'll delete it along with the cruise control. Any idea on where to get my hands on the correct belt once removed?

Before I proceed with the removal, can anyone confirm the heater / climate control functions will still work bar the ac?

Has anyone experienced problems with the heating system once removed? Also is it mandatory to remove the evaporator?

yep, they will work fine. up to you if you want to remove the evaporator or not, most people do at the same time

The ac is a separate system to the heater and blower, it's just that the ac passes through the blower. So removing the ac lines effects nothing. All you are doing is removing the pipes/compressor/dryer/condensor that flow the refrigerante.

If you remove the evaporator then you need to either remove all the inards of it then put the housing back, or find the bridging portion from a non-air con lude to fill the gap. Otherwise all your auxiliary heating will just blow into the passenger footwell and not make it to your vents.

Okay, it's just the link to the guide on removing ac mentioned removal of the evaporator?

So to clarify the ac delete can be done and the evaporator left alone??
