I'm just glad I bought one of the larger kits which had the socket adapter in, from memory I was considering buying a cheaper set which just had the right handed tool + Honda adapter plate and if that were the case I'd have been drokked

Didn't notice anything untoward at a glance, I guess I need to have a feel to be sure. Can I do anything to smooth the bore out if needed? Or would taking material off contaminate the inside of the calliper

If the scoring/ debris inside the bore is light, a quick rub with scotchbrite or similar will produce a smooth bore without removing too much metal so that the seals leak. Used this method on several occasions on my old Honda m/cycles. If rhe scoring is too deep, don't bother and start with a new set.

Only problem I have is that there don't appear to be any new calipers to be had for the 2nd gen - let's hope that the current ones scrub up

Are the calipers the same as 3g ones? If so, I have a spare set that I got from Hondaboy a couple of years ago. They are not in fantastic condition, but may be useful if you need to swap parts between the two sets.

Just finished refitting the brake caliper, at about a minute to midnight:

The caliper still needs stripping and rebuilding, but I reused the old seals just to get the brakes working for the purpose of loading onto a recovery truck. All seems well and now all the cars are ready for tomorrow (I think

I've not moved it yet, I only got 2 cars moved yesterday in the end

I was going to take it up the barn, but as I'm pushed for time I'm going to drop it up at my parent's house instead as they're only a half mile or so down the road.

That just leaves the BB4, which I'll probably leave at my old house until I can take it to my mate's garage for an MOT during the week.
