the issue started before i removed the speedo Rob, also the kph-mph converter is at the vss end.


but....



its all fixed now anyway.


what a bodge done by the importers. spot the broken wire?

unwrapped all the tape to find they had removed some of the insulation and wrapped the other wire around it.

soldered up as it should be.

wrapped back up for protection.

Get some shrink wrap tubing on those solder joins young man!!

Good job getting it fixed though, sounded like a real pain in the ass!

yeah not to bad. im off for a drive now. :vtec: :jdm:

and, iain. i did, check the yellow shrink. also i used some thin self amalgamating tape on the 3 way wires before insulation tape was applied.

My bb4 has various bits of the wiring bodged up exactly like that, too!

Dials look good! I think it makes a big difference to the quality of the interior for such a relatively small mod :D

i used the metallic spray, at night the rings glow the same colour as the dials and they look fantastic.

well it turns out that the fix didnt fix it in the end. it lasted about a week before it started to play up again. so balls to it.
i have removed the kph/mph converter completely and joined the original wires together. now i have vtec in first gear.
all i need to do is find a new converter and fit it at the speedo end. does anyone have a link to a suplier and a how to guide?
