Or by flipping the silver perch over....and putting it on upside down.....if you're a tit...like me.
I don't understand

Why doesn't the dorsal fin get in the way?

Stage 1 (cams)

Post by vanzep » Fri May 15, 2015 9:29 am

Some new parts to be fitted next week hopefully:
Fit uprated cams
Check valve clearances.
Check manual tensioner and belts.
New distributor and timing to be done.
Rocker cover gasket and washers, cam end cap, spark plug seals and vtec spool valve gasket and strainer.
Oil and filter change.

Ive gone with OEM Honda parts all the way ;)

Ive been running the lude with a tooth out on one cam for the last few years
so these cams once timed up should make a marked improvement in performance. Ive already got the breathing and farting bit sorted out (plm tri-y mani with 2.5 decat and deresonated Type S intake) and V2 spoon chipped ECU, so it should all work well together:)

I have also picked up a few sets of fogs and have decided to fit the lightweight facelift clear ones that ive refurbed. They are half the weight of the JDM yellow ones. Thanks to @newkid for the fog lights ;)

Are you sure about that? I've had both sets together and never noticed a difference in the weights.

And they look identical apart from the obvious lense difference...

What cams are they by the way? Type-S?

the fogs have a thermoplastic housing and this halves the overall weight - im just speculating that for this reason they must be a BB4 lightweight option

cams are type S/R/A8...

Hmmm  I never knew there was a thermoplastic option. Both my "lightweight" BB4's have had foglights with cast housings. They were '93 and '94, so maybe it's a later model thing... Or maybe even a UKDM thing?

Could be that Nafe but may also be off an JDM ITR im not 100% sure but they do look like OEM whatever they came off ;)
Ive got the switch installed on the loom that was already there and i have the jumper/extender harness just need to find the plug on the loom under the dash and plug it all in - well thats the plan anyway :)

Cheers man - the modified ATR IM will be Stage 2 :)
To fit that i need to get 2 things:

More cash
and
P28/72 Hondata S300 chipped ECU - set up and tuned like youve said

so thats a long way off and if im pleased with results from the work next week then that may be enough tinkering to keep me happy for a good few years - fingers crossed.
